This post will be a little different as today I’m going to focus in on the UBER vs.the Kansas City political machine controversy.

The KC political machine plays second fiddle to Chicago but is just as corrupt just a little bit dumber. On Thursday (4/9) the KC city council unanimously voted to say UBER will not operate in Kansas City (KC) and again proved they are luddites. UBER will not play ball and will not be coerced via political threat and a $40K RICO Act like throw down to stay in KC. KC and their luddite leadership has again decided to play second fiddle to St. Louis, Chicago, LA, NY and all major cities and our ‘leadership’ proves again they want to remain a 3rd World City. Say goodbye to more conventions and restaurant revenue all for a lousy $40k of BS because you can never find a cab at MCI. Westport or the Plaza. This isn’t NY or Chicago and the luddites at city hall just proved it yet again, KC is a 3rd world city that can’t even compete with the worthless St. Louis, only because UBER won’t be accepted because they won’t pay the cost the city’s business vig. Kansas City is a great city or was until the city council and the mayor, Sly James got paid off by the taxi union to put us on the level of Mogadishu, Somalia.

If you own a company or want a convention in KC or want to do business in KC, don’t. We have awesome hotels and restaurants but our city has lost everyone because they don’t want to be a first class city, they actually do things on a regular basis to prove they want the corruption of Chicago, DC, NY or Brussels. If I was running against Sly James this year that is how I’d run my campaign (I’m available for consulting work).

If you come to KC expect to wait forever for a cab because they pay for protection and if you are UBER, relocate to Claycomo or Pleasant Valley or a Kansas town before the State of Kansas  f’s up your life too. The Kansas legislature also wants a payout protection money for you to operate. It is funny how States and cities want protection money from new operators of businesses that came about from the Internet that help the people but if you don’t pay up they threaten you but aren’t yet subject to the RICO Act. Then again neither is the IRS and her bureaucrat minions like Lois Lerner who are exempt from all laws. Fairness is an illusion.

The Kansas Kracker (aka bureaucraticslave)

I have to throw this in because Sly James likes to talk about  government safety…”The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. – H. L. Mencken US editor (1880 – 1956) “
